The first shot of the U.S. Open has been struck, and struck well. Of course, maybe not well enough. It missed the impossibly narrow fairway by a matter of inches, nestled itself down into a burly thicket of razor wire & Indian grass, and promptly caught fire. Lost ball. Octuple bogey. Weekend hackers rejoice (WELCOME TO OUR WORLD, YOUR HIGHNESS!!!!).
God bless the U.S. Open and all She destroys.
That is all for now. At ease.

Caught fire? Looks like the groundskeeper at Bethpage is a Laker fan.

You would think the Open and the IRL would tie up for a doubleheader. A course thru the dense corn of Iowa would be spectacular, I can just see the players thrashing with their 5 irons thru the knee high stalks, swearing like Emmo the great Brazilian about _king corn. And let Barnhart be the course judge, and Arute do the announcing. That way we don’t have to put up with them this weekend.

Hey RocketHerk, imagine if they also had to do it during a biblical rainstorm? Get out the Firestone Rain Slicks and let’s go golfing.
