On a day when hoards of Danica-curious, non-IndyCar fans tuned in to watch the race, the Kansas 300 delivered the goods. The “I-don’t-know-what-I’m-watching-but-I-like-it” goods. The invaluable goods. The goods that I — and every other racing neophyte — enjoy. The easily understandable kind. The spectacle kind.
As the impartial mediator here, let me say this: Settle down. Everyone. The pro-Danica people … the anti-Danica crowd … Marty Reid … sexists … feminists … historians … mud slingers … gear heads … hippies … Jack Arute. Everyone. Let’s not get carried away.
As a true racing novice, this “street racing” thing suits me just fine.
